Logitech RS50 McLaren Racing Bundle: How to Hard-Mount It on a Sim Racing Cockpit

Logitech G used its G PLAY 2026 event on September 23, 2026 to launch the RS50 McLaren Racing Edition, a Papaya-and-black version of its 8 Nm (about 5.9 lb-ft) RS50 direct drive wheel base, sold as a complete RS50 McLaren Racing Bundle. In the same announcement, Logitech split its sim racing range into PC-only modular hardware: a standalone PC version of the RS50 system, a PC-only G923, and new two-pedal RS Pedals SE. If you are about to take one of these out of the box, the real question is not the desk clamp. It is where the wheel base and the load cell pedals are going to live.

What Logitech actually announced

According to Logitech's press release and its US store, here is what is confirmed:

  • RS50 McLaren Racing Bundle: RS50 direct drive base (up to 8 Nm, TRUEFORCE), RS Formula Wheel McLaren Racing Edition modeled after the McLaren MCL38 wheel, RS Wheel Hub, RS Pedals with a load cell brake, and a table clamp. Logitech's US store lists the PlayStation/PC version at $899.99; specialist media report a PC-only version at $799.99.
  • RS50 System (PC-only): listed at $599.99 on Logitech's US store.
  • RS Pedals SE: $129.99, Hall effect throttle and brake, adjustable spacing, upgradeable later with Logitech's RS Load Cell Brake Module.
  • G923 (PC-only): $249.99.

The standard RS Pedals in the bundle use a load cell brake rated at 75 kg (165 lb). Logitech has not published hard-mount drawings for the new RS Pedals SE yet, so we only cover the bundle's RS Pedals below.

What changes for the driver

Direct drive and a load cell brake reward a rigid setup. A direct drive motor sends every detail of the road straight to your hands, and a load cell measures how hard you press, not how far the pedal travels. That is how you build braking muscle memory, but only if the pedals don't move when you stand on them and the base doesn't flex when the wheel snaps back. A table clamp is a fine way to start. Once you are pressing a 165 lb (75 kg) brake every corner, the desk, the chair and the clamp become the weak points.

The PC-only split matters too. If you race only on PC, you no longer pay for console licensing, and you can build your rig one part at a time: base first, then pedals, then a second wheel.

How to install the RS50 McLaren bundle on the GTR S8 Infinity Force

The GTR S8 Infinity Force ($599) lists both the Logitech RS 50 wheel base and the Logitech RS Pedals as compatible on its product page. Its frame is built from E355 steel tubing, 1.9 in (48 mm) in diameter, and is designed for direct drive bases up to 25 Nm (about 18.4 lb-ft) and load cell pedals up to 440 lb (200 kg). An 8 Nm base and a 165 lb (75 kg) brake sit comfortably inside those limits, with plenty of headroom if you upgrade later.

  1. Wheel base. Leave the table clamp in the box. Bolt the RS50 to the GTR S8 wheel deck, a 0.12 in (3 mm) E355 steel mount that accepts side or bottom mounting. Set the wheel mount tilt (±30°) and height (±1.8 in / ±45 mm) so your arms are slightly bent at the top of the wheel.
  2. Pedals. Fit the RS Pedals to the pedal deck, also 0.12 in (3 mm) E355 steel. Slide it fore and aft (±7.9 in / ±200 mm) and set its angle anywhere from −9° to +30° so your heel rests naturally and your knee stays slightly bent at full brake pressure.
  3. Seat. Move the RS2 FiberCore bucket seat on its ±8.7 in (±220 mm) rails to finalize your distance to the wheel. Its shell and the pedal deck are on the same chassis, so the force you put through the brake goes into the frame, not into a sliding office chair.
  4. Screen. Console racers can add the Monitor Stand GTR S3/S8 ($129.90, screens up to 50 in, VESA 75×75 to 400×200). PC racers who want a wider view can add the Universal Triple Screen Upgrade Kit ($149), which turns a compatible OPLITE single stand into a triple setup for 24–34 in screens (up to 22 lb / 10 kg per side screen).
  5. Handbrake or shifter later. The Full Force Kit included with the GTR S8 Infinity Force lets you mount the SimRacing & FlightSim Holder for a handbrake and shifter when you are ready.

Three things the GTR S8 brings to an RS50 setup

1. A real fiberglass bucket seat, included

The GTR S8 Infinity Force ships with the RS2 FiberCore bucket seat: four cross-woven, reinforced fiberglass layers with suedine upholstery and five harness slots. It holds you in place under braking, so the pressure you apply to the RS Pedals is consistent lap after lap.

2. One universal wheel mount, whatever base comes next

The GTR S8 uses a single E355 steel wheel mount compatible with Fanatec, MOZA, Thrustmaster, Logitech, Turtle Beach, Asetek and Nacon bases, mounted from the side or from below. If you start with the RS50 today and move to a stronger base later, you keep the same cockpit and the same wheel mount, with no adapter plate to buy and no extra cost when you upgrade.

3. A dedicated, upgradable ecosystem

Monitor stands, a triple screen kit, a Stream Deck arm, a keyboard and mouse tray, shifter and handbrake supports and casters are designed around the GTR S8 chassis. You add them when you need them, and they bolt on without guesswork.
