Updated September 2026 · United States and Canada
The GTR S8 is OPLITE's core cockpit: a tubular steel frame with steel wheel and pedal decks, rated for direct drive bases up to 25 Nm, sold in the US either complete with the RS2 FiberCore bucket seat (Infinity Force, $599) or as a bare chassis for your own seat ($449). This guide explains the difference between the two, which wheels and pedals it takes, and which of the fourteen accessories in the S8 ecosystem are worth adding first.
What to check before you buy any cockpit in this price range
Several steel cockpits sell for around $600 and quote the same 25 Nm rating. The rating is not where they differ. Three things are, and they decide what you'll actually spend and how the rig ages with your hardware.
- The seat. The GTR S8 Infinity Force ships with the RS2 FiberCore: a real bucket seat with a 4-layer cross-woven fiberglass shell, 35 kg/m³ foam, suede upholstery, rail travel of ±8.7 in (±220 mm), −24°/+24° tilt and five harness pass-throughs. It is the same seat OPLITE sells on its own for $299.90, and it is the part of a cockpit you feel for two hours straight.
- The wheel mount. Some cockpits mount a few direct drive bases straight to the frame and put everything else — Fanatec CSL and GT DD Pro, MOZA, Logitech, Thrustmaster — on a deck that needs a brand-specific bracket, sold separately. The GTR S8 uses one E355 steel wheel deck that takes Fanatec, MOZA, Thrustmaster, Logitech, Turtle Beach, Asetek and Nacon bases directly. Change your wheelbase in a year and you unbolt the old one and bolt on the new one; there is no adapter to order and no extra cost.
- The ecosystem. Accessories are where a $600 cockpit turns into a $900 one. The GTR S8 has fourteen dedicated S8 accessories with published prices (listed below), all designed for this frame, and the Full Force Kit that stiffens the rear is already in the box. You know what the full build costs before you order the first part.
Two ways to buy it
| GTR S8 Infinity Force | GTR S8 Infinity chassis | |
|---|---|---|
| US price | $599 (black or white) | $449 (black) |
| Seat | RS2 FiberCore bucket seat included: 4-layer cross-woven fiberglass shell, suede upholstery, 35 kg/m³ foam, ±8.7 in (±220 mm) rail travel, height adjustment, −24°/+24° tilt, 5 harness pass-throughs | Not included. Takes the OPLITE RS2 FiberCore or any bucket seat with side mounts and 11.4 in (290 mm) bolt spacing |
| Full Force Kit | Included (rear bracing that stiffens the frame and receives the SimRacing & FlightSim Holder) | Optional, $79.90 |
| Wheelbase rating | Up to 25 Nm | Up to 20 Nm |
| Shipped weight | 90.4 lb (41 kg), one carton | 66.3 lb (30 kg), one carton |
| Footprint, seat fully back | 59.8 × 26 in (152 × 66 cm) | 59.8 × 23.6 in (152 × 60 cm) with RS1 |
The chassis makes sense if you already own a bucket seat, or if you want a different seat than the RS2. For everyone else, the Infinity Force is the simpler buy: the seat alone would cost $299.90 (RS2 FiberCore, US edition), and the Full Force Kit $79.90.
Which wheels and pedals it takes
The wheel deck is a 0.12 in (3 mm) E355 steel plate with ±30° height and ±30° tilt adjustment, with side and bottom mounting. The published compatibility list covers more than sixty wheelbases and pedal sets; the short version:
- Wheelbases up to 25 Nm: Fanatec CSL DD, ClubSport DD and DD+, DD Extreme (at its 25 Nm setting); MOZA R5, R9, R12, R16; Logitech G Pro; Thrustmaster T818, T-GT II, TS-XW, T300; Simagic Alpha Mini and Alpha; Asetek La Prima and Forte; Cammus C5 and C12; all Logitech G29/G920/G923 and Thrustmaster belt-driven wheels.
- Load cell pedals up to 440 lb (200 kg) of brake force, in inclined or flat layout: Fanatec ClubSport V3 and CSL Elite V2; MOZA SR-P, CRP and CRP2; Thrustmaster T-LCM; Logitech Pro Pedals; Simagic P1000 and P2000; Asetek Invicta, Forte, La Prima; Heusinkveld Sprint, Ultimate+ and Pro; VRS DirectForce Pro.
Bases run above 25 Nm (MOZA R21, Simucube 2 Pro and Ultimate at full torque) sit outside the S8 rating. If that's your hardware, write to contact@oplite-usa.com before ordering and we'll point you to the right OPLITE frame.
Driver fit
The Infinity Force is stated for drivers from 4'11" (1.50 m) to over 6'11" (2.10 m), with a seat load capacity of 330 lb (150 kg). The pedal deck moves ±7.9 in (±200 mm) in depth and tilts from −9° to +30°; the seat slides ±8.7 in on rails. Two drivers of different heights can share it by moving the seat and the pedal deck, without tools for the seat.
